Project Description
Bellinter House is an 18th-century Palladian villa on the banks of the River Boyne.
Design Brief
This listed building was converted into a luxury boutique hotel by the same group that owns Cafe Bar Deli, Eden and The Bodega. Its designer, Pierce Tynan, preserved its classic Georgian legacy whilst enhancing it with the best of modern Irish design. Wink’s role in this project involved consulting on refurbishment and restoration issues, and carrying out installation works.

Wink was required to advise on lighting schemes and ideas, using fittings suggested by the designer. As a listed building, many aspects of the electrical installation proved a challenge. Many luminaries required on-site intervention or modification in order to retain the classic styling and use sanctioned by the owner. By focussing upon lighting effect as opposed to light fitting overall, the lighting complemented the original interior architecture, whilst adding a modern contemporary feel.
