Clonmellon
Project Description
We were invited by Joseph Doyle architects to work with Mark Ryan (Sculptor) to light his new alter installation in the church.
Design Brief
The essence of the brief was to enhance the contemporary installation with the existing, creating a special space for all to appreciate. We took the approach of lighting the alter as if it was a stage set, using theatrical based profile projector fittings highlighting the elements sculpted by Mark. We also tinted the colour temperature of the uplighters used on the back alter to highlight its existence softly. The products specified used the best of the theatre technologies while using the most efficient energy and life of the lamps available. The final fittings selected were fabricated by the New Zealand based company Aureol. “We would like to record our grateful thanks to you and your company for the consultation, design and supply of lighting to our church in Clonmellon. There is no doubt that your assistance to us in our refit was most helpful and welcome. We found Wink Lighting to be extremely professional and very considered in their work with us. Your understanding of both the brief and our humble needs contributed greatly to the finished work. We would have no hesitation in recommending Wink Lighting to any prospective customer and would be more than willing to receive any reference requests for your work with us”. - Fr. Sean Garland.
