Control is the most important element in energy saving.
Presence detection is based on the entry and use of a space, and turning off the light source after a time period once the space has been vacated. Absence Control is based on the exiting of the space and the physical switching on of the light source of once entering the room. This reduces the time period for switching off when vacated. Daylight control is based on the natural light levels in the space and the artificial light is controlled accordingly. The use of all of these systems together is becoming standard practice for most commercial project, and to a certain extent Residential.
