A 12.5% increase in our electricity bills is coming in the next bill. The high end users are going to really feel this increase, an added expense in these more competitive times.
We have options of where to purchase our energy, but the net difference won’t be huge. Maximizing daylight, correct lamp selection, control implementation and effective fitting specification will result in savings for the consumer. The estimated savings (for certain sectors) is in the region of 30% of total energy used. The renewable energies available are not only ones outside that we can purchase, but, with the industrial sectors there are mechanisms available to transfer waste from one source to energy in another. Combined heat and power is one example.
