Project Description
Fergus Costello, Artist for Sacred Spaces, asked us to design a lighting scheme for a complete refurbishment of Sixmilebridge Parish Church in County Clare.
Design Brief
Our solution was to use a mix of uplighting, to accentuate the architecture of the ceiling and to lift the space; ambient lighting, to create a minimum level of background lighting; and then plenty of spotlighting, to pick out and accentuate a number of features and furniture items within and throughout the space. Also important was to ensure that any light fitting not easily accessible used highly efficient long-life lamp technology to ease and reduce maintenance costs.
