SUSTAINABLE LIGHTING
Sustainable Lighting
Sustainability starts with a switch. Not just the changing of a light bulb, but a fundamental shift in how we view energy usage in our homes, schools and places of work.
At wink, we believe that every entity, from a suburban household to a global corporation, can benefit by incorporating sustainability into everyday life and long-range planning.
By implementing an energy conscious lighting scheme that meets the needs of a space in an efficient manner, you will reduce maintenance costs, save money and help the planet.
Energy Comparisons:
The type of lamp used, the lamp life, the colour temperature and the colour rendering of the light are all factors to consider when designing a lighting scheme
This chart shows the efficiencies of the main lamp types available in the market, and the comparison of the effective conversion of energy to light out put , the yellow column Lumen per Watt .
It also gives a good indication of the lamp life of lamps. It is not always only the lamp life that needs to be taken into consideration but also the effective light output of the lamp over its life. Some lamps have a very high depreciation in this area, such as the LED and needs to be taken into account when selecting the correct lamp for the application of use.
Other areas of consideration when choosing a lamp are the colour temperature and the colour rendering.

Colour temperature is the visual perception of a warmth or coolness within the spectrum of white light. Using the variances gives us the capacity of creating very different feelings in a space.
The colour rendering index (CRI) is the comparison of colour under artificial light compared with natural daylight. This is also very important when considering what type of lamp should be specified for the task involved.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
There are two ways to build a house. You can pour your own concrete, buy the blocks or stick up your wooden frame and then work out how to keep the rain out; the other way is to take on an architect and engineer. A good advisor will create something entirely original that works for you.
That is what Wink Lighting do. Some of the pieces they advise may initially seem alarmingly expensive: some others will be incredibly cheap. It is how they all work together that will show the unusual flair and value from these creators of space.
